Thank you for your faith and your support. I am honored to serve as your voice on the Linn County Board of Supervisors.

Kirsten Running-Marquardt has fought tirelessly for our families in the Iowa House for 13 years. Now, Kirsten is excited to bring her passion for our communities to county government.

A sixth-generation Iowan, Kirsten was born and raised in southwest Cedar Rapids. A graduate of LaSalle High School and an attendee of Kirkwood Community College, Kirsten has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Policy. She lives on the west side of Cedar Rapids with her husband, Coy, and their son, Jack.

 As your Linn County Supervisor for District 1, Kirsten is working to bring people together in order to:

Focus on workforce development so hard-working families can earn a decent living

Provide access to quality mental healthcare services

Keep property taxes from rising

Make Linn County the best place in Iowa to raise a family

Kirsten has been serving Iowans her entire life.

Iowa State Representative since 2009

Helped lead local economic development work on the downtown Amphitheater, Czech Village, Ellis Harbor, Hawkeye Downs and various nonprofits

Member of Iron Workers Local 89 and John XXIII Church

Served on the board for the Iowa Small Business Development Centers, Iowa Workforce Development, and the History Center of Linn County

Volunteers with local food security organizations
